Dall Sheep

Our Dall Sheep hunts take place during August in the infamous Chugach Mountains.  This is a backpack, walk-in, classic Alaskan sheep hunting expedition.  You can expect many miles, long days, and sore legs as we chase the king of the mountain.  The challenge is there and will be worth every step with breathtaking views and the exceptional sheep this area has to offer.  Physical fitness is a must for this hunt and it will directly correlate to the hunting experience.  Basically, the better in shape you are, the luckier we will get.  There are many details to this hunt so please contact us for more information; we love to talk sheep hunting!

At Alaska Trophy Expeditions, we understand that due to each of our client’s unique individual situations that in some cases physical preparation cannot be fully achieved to ones desires.  In this case, we do offer the option of acquiring additional packer(s) for carrying your gear and necessities along the hunt.  Our goal is to provide every means possible of you achieving the trophy of your lifetime. Please inquire about fees and details.

Mountain Goat

Our Mountain Goat hunts are conducted at the end of September through the middle of October.  During this time of year it is the very start of the white ghost’s rut.  The billy’s are in prime form with unblemished, long thick coats, and are in search of nannies low on the mountains.  We can expect to see trophies in the minimum of 9”+ class with very high success ratios.  This is a backpack style hunt that takes place in the rugged Chugach Mountains with awe inspiring scenery.  This is a challenging hunt and physical fitness should be at the top of the preparation list.  This goat hunt is a draw only area.  Please contact us before December of the following year so we can submit the proper applications.  We would recommend you consider making this hunt a combination with our Brown bear/Black bear hunts as a trophy fee.  Please contact for more information

Brown Bear / Black Bear

Brown Bear/Black Bear - This hunt is conducted on the salmon rivers and streams of the Chugach Mountains.  This style of hunting relies on jet boats, comfortable camping conditions, and long days of glassing for brown bear.  We can expect to see 8’+ bears walking the gravel bars eating whatever they can find in preparation for the den.  Hides this time of year are thick and particular attention is taken to make sure your trophy will be free of rubs and blemishes.  Black bear is a nice trophy fee option for this hunt, we will have baited barrel stations which can be observed from our glassing knob and you’ll never know what might coming walking out.  We have taken some extremely nice black bears in this area.  Please contact us for more information.

*Unit 13 hunts are vehicle movements from Anchorage to boat launches and/or trailheads that will lead us to our hunting areas.*
